RAID Data Recovery

RAID Data Recovery

RAID Data Recovery (RAID 0, 1, 5, 10)

JET Computer will help you recover data from corrupted RAID arrays of any level. We also work with any interface: IDE, SCSI, SAS, SATA.

What is RAID?

RAID combines multiple hard drives operating in parallel (RAID is an acronym for such a system - Redundant Arrays of Independent Discs).

The main objective of such an array is to enhance overall system performance and backup data storage to ensure rapid data recovery in case of necessity. Thus there is a separation of several concurrent processes on different physical disks in order to accelerate their work. Upon failure of a HDD, data are recovered from a parallel hard drive, while the damaged disc is just replaced with a new one. Different ways to combine RAID arrays are called RAID levels 1, 10, 5, 50, 6 or 60. There are also RAID-0 and JBOD, which are not redundant arrays.

Data Recovery in the Event of RAID Damage

It should be taken into account that data recovery methods in case of damage of an array can vary greatly depending on its level, therefore when you contact the service center it is desirable to provide information on what an array is involved.

For example, RAID-0 does not provide reliable data storage and data recovery when it fails to take longer.

To recover HDD in the RAID array as efficiently as possible is enough to observe a few simple rules:

  1. If a failed hard drive has been found, disconnect it immediately. Otherwise, the hard drive may be severely damaged and data recovery will be impossible.
  2. Before you apply to the service for your hard drive repair, you should carefully enumerate all disks in the array and write down the block size.
  3. Sometimes data recovery will also need a controller which is better to bring with the RAID. If it is built into the motherboard, it is desirable to provide data on its model and the type of controller.
  4. In any case do not rearrange the disks in the array, as this can greatly hinder data recovery.
  5. If you are not sure that you can restore HDD independently, do not perform any operations with it. Without the help of an expert it is not worth doing anything, if more than one disc failed.

Separate data recovery from a failed RAID array in most cases results in a loss of information and inability to restore it!
